DWC implements solar powered rain water to drinking water system in Ruanda Tuesday, 9. June 2009
DWC just finished a solar powered water purification and sanitation project in Ruanda, Africa. After initial design and engineering phase DWC was asked to actually implement a solar powered rain water desinfection system, solar powered pump system and a separation dry toilet system based on EcoSan principles. Key figures: - 150m³ rain water cistern
- PV direct powered submersible pump
- 4m³ holding tank
- PV powered UV desinfection system with min. 4.000l/d capacity
- Water kiosk to sell safe drinking water at social prices
- 8 Dry toilets with separation and reuse feature (faeces to earth, urin to fertiliser)
