PV / Wind powered desalination systems over 3.5m³ per day production
In principle, the hourly / daily production of purified drinking water from this kind of soalr / wind powered reverse osmosis system is only limited by the following factors
- salinity of raw water
- amount energy required for pumping (depth of well)
- amount of RO modules
- energy supply (availability/amount of wind and/or solar)
- energy storage capacity (batteries, etc)
- storage capacity (raw water and fresh water)
- storage capacity of equipment (20" or 40" container(s))
- available budget
The combination of all those factor make up the ideal configuration for a suitable system.
50m³ per day solar powered desalination system based on Reverse Osmosis
This plug and play example preconfigured into a 20" container shows a configuration which could be used almost anywhere. It is a completely CO2 free and self sufficient solution with plenty of Photovoltaic panels and battery storage capacity. A small vertical or horizontal wind generator can be added anytime. In this configuration this unit can produce around 50m³ per day clear drinking water from any saline water source.
The unit runs on only 950W @ 24 VDC with flexible recovery rates and outputs depending on raw water parameters.
