During our stay in Marakesh for the trade fair we have been kindly invited by our clients to stay a few nights at their private villa near Essaouira, Moroco. It was a great pleasure to see how our eco pool installations and more so the power and water installations have been evolved over time. Here are some pics with some comments...  This is the view to the "Kopsch"-tower holding the water and energy components. Overlooking the eco pool we see the white tower with a vertical wind power generator on the top. The top part is the raw water tank using ground water as the raw water for the whole house use.  Looking at the Kopsch tower from the other angle, the different solar panels plus wind power generator are more obvious. On the ground floor are the controls and batteries.  This is the inside view on the ground level of the "Kopsch" tower. You can see here different contros like wind controller, charge controller and inverter. This system can provide ca. 4.000 W of AC power.  Recently upgraded have been more professional, higher quality and longer lasting solar batteries.  Another upgrade - and that might look too simple - is the use of the latest LED technology for indoor lighting. We have presented this amazing little piece of top LED technology at the trade show and used it in this private home. 1. Reduced energy demand instead of adding solar power generators It greatly reduces the energy demand down to only 7W but with 600lm!!! light. 2. Integrated dimmer inside the LED light Through switch dimming, the lamp can be adjusted to four discrete brightness levels byrapid cycling of the light switch. The brightness levels are traversed in up anddown manner. Brightness resumes at the highest level when power is removed for more than a second. Compared to triac/scr dimmers total power consumption will be reduced in the same ratio as brightness decreases. Incredible piece of technology!! Here are more details:    Last but not least: Improved water efficiency!    Again, using the latest water saving devices such as LED Shower heads indicating the shower time (not the water temperature!!) by changing LED lights from green (< 3 min duration) to yellow (< 5min duration) to red (> 5 min duration) inside the shower head at a fixed 10l/min flow rate independent of water pressure you save not only on costs for shower water quantity but also costs for heating hot water for your shower. |
