Natural bathing in southwestern Germany (Baden-Württemberg and Rheinland-Pfalz)

Around 13 natur pools exist in Baden-Württemberg and Rheinland-Pfalz. Many others are in the planning and/or construction phase

The bathing water is in contrast to traditional pools not chemically cleaned but based on natural principles. The 4.500 m² large "Waldseebad" in Gaggenau is one of the largest and most attractive sites in Germany. But all the others are certainly woth a visit. These pictures were taken during a recent visit (20 June 2007) of the natural pool in Rockenhausen. The weather was fairly cold (21°C) with little to no sunshine -  the water temperature was 24°C.
